Author's Note

Why I Write

For years, I lived in silence. I didn’t know how to speak about the pain I was enduring. I was in a relationship that slowly broke me down — not with fists, but with words, manipulation, isolation, and fear. It wasn’t until I started losing myself completely that I realized staying quiet was no longer an option. 

 

I wrote Unbound: Escaping the Narcissist because I needed to survive. I needed to find my voice again—and writing became the only way I knew how. Every word in this book comes from a place of raw truth. I didn’t write it to relive the pain. I wrote it to transform it—to take back my power, one sentence at a time.This is more than my story. It’s a reflection of so many who have been made to feel unworthy, invisible, or “too emotional.”

 

 If that’s you, I want you to know:

You are not alone. You are not crazy.

You are not to blame.​

This book and others include difficult moments. Some chapters may be triggering—especially for those who have lived through emotional abuse, gaslighting, or abandonment. Please read gently. Breathe between chapters. Your healing matters more than finishing the book.​

To every survivor reading this:

There is life after the silence.

There is light after the storm.

And there is a voice inside you still waiting to be heard.

This book is proof that you can speak out.

And when you do—you become Unbound.
